The catfish nuggets were delicious and it will be the main reason why I will go back! The customer service were patient and nice. As for the over all ambiance it seemed chill and I noticed a sign that on Saturday's they have jazz music

gotta show some love for this place. tried this place on a whim about 10 years ago and never came back bc I had a bad experience with the fried chicken. decided to try it again and damn, did I fall in love with their food. there's so much to choose from. plenty of sides and entree choices. all of it is good. my personal favorite is the fried chicken dinner with pork collard greens and mac and cheese or the 3 pc pork rib dinner with the aforementioned sides and some hot sauce. all dinners come with a piece of cornbread which is nice but I'm not too big on cornbread. the yams are soooo good. sweet and buttery, it'll bring a smile to your face. you get so much food for one dinner, it'll last you at least two meals unless you're really hungry. this place def brings a new definition to the word comfort food. service is quick unless you come on a busy day but it's worth the wait. easily one of my favorite places for a cheat meal or if I'm in need of some good soul food. The sweet tea lemonade combo pairs well with the food. havent had the other specialty drink which is the cherry pineapple, but if it's as good as their sweet tea lemonade, it'll be promising. I hope they never go out of business. I'm already thinking about my next visit. r/sm.

Ok, Soooooooo my auntie loves this restaurant. It's not my jam to be completely honest here . I always like to support a black owned business. Plates are around $20.00 from bbq chicken to pigs feet. Now this I no dollar menu pricing. Then you would expect to get better service than someone working where they have a dollar menu. I'm sad to say ..... most visits this is not the case. I truly don't understand why the attitudes? Just whyyyyyyyy???? It is super clear from the body language, eye rolling, and sarcastic responses a FEW do not like their job. Look-e-here a friendly and kind demeanor goes a looooooong way when you are easily forking over 50.00 for two people. I have had several "service" incidents in the past few months since my aunt has been coming here. One day a gentleman asked to confirm no pork in his greens. The young lady stated " If that's what it says on your order then that's what we do". Another occasion they happen to be closing earlier than normal for that particular day. Doors were locked prior to the scheduled closing time. Food is still visible but they tell say it's 1min past the hour. They say " It's past the hour right ? Well we are closed ! ...turns around and ignores the door. I guess they were in a hurry to go home. That's not the way to treat a regular customer. I will leave this here ..... We must treat members of our community and YOUR PATRONS with kindness. Simply the way they would like to be treated when patronizing a place of business. We have to deal with this type of treatment at other establishments. Why not have your business be a place of refuge. Where we know we will be cared for. I hate to say it but WE THE COMMUNITY are keeping you young ladies employed. So unfriendly service = less customers =no paycheck. Come on ladies we have to do better.
